Living Room Feature Wall

Remember my Jazzleberry Jam Pink living room? Well…it finally got a feature wall. When the room got painted, I whipped some photos and art up on the walls, knowing regardless of how much thought I put into it I would change it anyway. I’m quirky like that.

So a few weekends ago everything came off the walls, the holes got filled, sanded, and re-painted. I had a blank (hot pink) slate.

The odd placement of the fireplace (basically being in the first third of the room) has always bothered me and I could never figure out how to make the entire wall work as one with the symmetry being so off.

Here’s what I put up right after I painted. You’ll note the fireplace was’t even included….there was nothing on it…..and clearly, this isn’t lovely. (before I painted there was nothing on that entire wall….)

And here’s what it looks like now. I am very pleased. (although truth be told, there is still some tweaking I may do…)

I am particularly fond of the empty frame over the mantle. Why?…. I have no idea:) Like I said, I’m quirky like that.

You are a brave woman. I missed the painting post the first time around. I have to say I love the bold colour and I think it really works with the black, white and natural wood accents you have in the room. The frame feature wall definitely works with the colour. I think this is an example where more is more.

thanks so much Julia! we have such a random collection of furniture in our living room - assembled over the years - and I'm amazed how the colour makes it all look 'on purpose" lol:) it brings everything together. and agree with you completely! more is more on the walls (at least for this bold colour). :)
