Easy Holiday Pillows: Up-cycling old sweaters
I made some fun (and very easy!) holiday decor pillows last week…and even though they are a Christmas gift for someone special (Dad – don’t spill the beans!) I just had to share them. If you’re still hunting for a great gift, these took about 30 minutes each to make (once you had all your supplies) and are so unique!
I had four old pillows, which I used as the stuffing. A trip to Value Village produced four sweaters – I gathered any sweaters that I liked that were either red, white/beige/off white, or green and then put the combo of four together that looked best (and were similar sizes). The sparkly snowflake is iron on from Fabricland, so are the buttons, and finally, red wool yarn & a needle.
I will never look at old sweaters the same way again! Such a fun way to re-purpose things and be creative at the same time:)
Very cool!! I love these! Pinning!
Thanks so much Natalie:)!
These are awesome Heather - and so cozy! Love the blanket stitching around the edges too. :)
Thanks Heather! I am very pleased with how they turned out.
