Rayne Whole Food: why I’m #LovingRayne & so are the dogs!
I will fully admit to be an active pet-parent. (Ten bucks says there are family and friends reading this, saying “Active! She’s a down-right crazy dog lady!”) Our boys are family, not simply dogs. So when it comes to their well-being the best is what we strive for. We have always fed the boys high quality dog food, looking for the least processed and ‘natural’ dog-diet.
Hermann, our oldest, has always had skin issues, but in the past few years it has gotten worse. Treating with medications is never ideal for us, we look to ‘treat’ by correcting the cause. We started looking at food allergies and slowly went from diet to diet, until my sister (who is also a Veterinarian) recommended Rayne Whole Food to us. Being me, I did some further net-digging and decided it was worth a shot.
Best. Decision. Ever.
Within two weeks of switching the boys over we noticed a reduction in Hermann’s skin issues, and a complete physical rejuvenation. He has more energy, more umph, more get-up-and-go, more joie-de-vivre than we’ve seen in years. He is clearly feeling a lot better. Seriously, I started to cry on an evening walk I was so overjoyed to see his energy levels.
Eddie, a notoriously picky eater, consistently gobbles his meals up and looks to us for more. This never happened before we made the switch. His coat is softer too:)
It was this amazingly positive experience that led me to reach out to Rayne. I sent a note off telling them of this amazing transformation, and thanking them for producing such a great food meeting all of our high standards of care for our beloved pets. I told Rayne I wanted to be a partner in shouting this from the treetops, and so…. I am excited to share that I, along with our boys (@), are official pet-ambassadors for Rayne Whole Food.
Both boys are eating Rayne’s Low Fat/Novel Protein-KSP dry food, which does not include any animal fat, corn, or grain. Which might make you wonder, “if none of those are in there, what IS in it?” It’s a pretty short list of ingredients – and other than fructooligosaccharides, I can pronounce everything:) And if you didn’t click the link for fructoo-whatever, it’s a natural sweetener.
Ingredients: Potato, kangaroo, pea protein, peas, sunflower seeds, dried ground sweet potato, potato protein, natural flavour, coconut oil, calcium carbonate, sunflower oil (preserved with Vitamin E from mixed tocopherols), sea salt,
fructooligosaccharides, vitamins and minerals, taurine. (Dry 1 cup/105 g = ~342 kcals)
I highly recommend reading about Rayne’s Quality and Safety, their Open Source Nutrition, and checking out their team (there are two Heathers! clearly this is a great company:) ).
The Open Source Nutrition is really what caught my eye. Their goal was to develop the best product using whole food ingredients, period. Not adding in things like, meeting XYZ price point, or hitting certain margin levels. This shows me how much they care about the food they make – which I feed my family (the four legged ones of course).
The boys and I will be providing a review on the amazing Rayne treats and doing a fun give-a-way in the next post, so stay tuned. In the meantime, if you’d like to know more about Rayne Whole Food I encourage you to reach out to them on (very responsive – big points for being an awesome brand who gets it), , or via their website.
Update: It’s been twelve weeks and the boys are feeling right as ‘rayne’ see the video:
Sponsored Post Disclosure: As I mentioned above, I reached out to Rayne as a result of loving the impact their food was having on the boys. We receive food and treats, but no financial compensation in our role as Pet-Ambassadors:). The opinions, as always, are 100% mine.
Thanks so much for this post. My husband did a lot of research about food last year when we got our own four legged fellow. As we've read more and more, though, it's gotten harder to sort out what's the best choice for our dude. I'm glad to learn about Rayne.
we are loving Rayne - the changes we have seen in our boys have been incredible.
Our guy wasn't picky when we first got him, but he's started showing less and less interest in his kibble. The fact that Eddie now gobbles it up is really encouraging.
he loves it:) we add just a touch of the KSP wet food to his kibble which is even more enticing for him:) I'll be doing a review on the wet food too - so stay tuned:)
I love stories like this and I love that they make such a great product (Heather's RULE!) Glad you found something that works!
me too:) I said the other day to hubby, 'we've got our Hermann back" - the change in him has been so incredible. I am so very grateful:) he's one of our babies:)
