From Drab to Fab: a DIY makeover
- Finding free stuff on the side of the road is pretty much the best thing ever for a person with a DIY habit. So when I spied this vintage dining room sideboard with a giant sign saying FREE, it was in the car in no time. I knew exactly what it would be transformed into. Our new TV unit. Up until the paint was dry on this sexy beast we used an old coffee table to hold the TV, and our co[...]

Giving wicker patio furniture a new life
- This weekend was both productive and decadent! It started with giving the old white wicker patio furniture new life. In knocking some items off "the list" last weekend, I may have added another item....painting the wicker furniture. I knew going from white to black would be drastic, and I was a actually a bit nervous, but four cans of spray paint later I love them!! I ended up having t[...]

The List
- We made a list. A big, grown-up list. A list of things that need to get done around our house (or property). On the list are relatively minor tasks like; 'paint bathroom pipe', and major ones, like 'build new shed'. All require time, most require cash money. Oh the pains of being a grown-up! Being me, and generally sitting on the positive side of the fence, I saw some opportunities to paint, to [...]

Ooops...I did it again:)
- Ooops...I did it again. I painted something. It was an impromptu project. On Saturday I did two things clearly marking it as Spring...I turned off the furnace and I changed the doors over from glass to screen. Except halfway through I decided the back door was ugly and should be painted. So I painted it. And it looks SOOO much better! ps. It's the same heavy duty black flooring pai[...]

- It's done! Our entire open concept kitchen/dining room is now a fabulously bright and cheery yellow, PARA Paints' colour of the year Plantain Chips PF52 ! This project took a lot longer than I would ideally like...but that's life! Instead of being home painting, I was either eating alligator for the first time in Atlanta or falling in love with watermelon mojitos in Mexico, so really I'm okay with[...]

PARA Paints Kitchen re-vamp project update
- 7 months ago
- Three weeks ago five fabulous gallons of PARA paint arrived and I was itching to get started on the kitchen re-vamp project ....sadly, that little thing that pays my mortgage - you know, those pesky job thingys? well, it got in the way as I had to head away for work. Flash forward to today, and yet again I'm packing up and headed away for work. And yet again, I'm just ITCHING to get finished. I[...]

- Remember when I said I was thinking of painting our living room Jazzleberry Jam pink? well...I DID IT! It's pretty fabulous. And by pretty fabulous, I mean it's SUPER pretty and SUPER fabulous:) ! To appreciate the fabulousness, here is the boring 'sell my house beige' living room before.... ...and then the fun began:) I put the furniture back the way it was, but took the oppor[...]

Project Chandelier
- Our guest room is lovely. But as I mentioned in my PARA Paints #ParaBlogCrew application video, the one thing our guest room lacked was attractive lighting. My mom gave us this chandelier, which came out of her former dressing room before a renovation, but I never really loved the brushed nickel. So I pulled out a can of gold spray paint and got to work:) I swapped out the old tube thi[...]
