- Both DH and I are blessed with wonderful friends, his, mine, and ours. And while Thanksgiving is always a busy time of year for us, we are so very #ThankFALL to be spending part of our Thanksgiving weekend with people who are near and dear to our hearts: my BFF, her handsome hubby, and their three perfectly awesome kids. I am lucky enough to be their fairy god-mother. A role I cherish. Now, I'[...]

- Other than the flying cars and outfits, sometimes I feel like we live in the era of the Jetsons. Computers everywhere, in everything. And while I'm not keen on a take-over Matrix style, I do enjoy how simple the machines in our house make things. I can learn to cook something new watching a video on youtube right at the kitchen counter. I can take a picture, edit it, and share it with the [...]

- When people say, "you've got such a beautiful home!" I smile, say thank you, and frankly...agree - I love our home, and it is beautiful (to me, which is what counts right?). But I have a bit of secret.... On most normal days there are dozens of dog toys strewn about (I picked up five in the kitchen alone this morning...), the chairs in the dining room and the stools in the kitchen are servin[...]

- My Sundays usually start out quite lovely, but this past Sunday had more in store...and it was awesome. I joined the first (of what I know will be many more) #GuelphBlogBrunch. Heather over at heartheather was the delightful human being behind this get-together - you must go check out her post (and super FAB photos - she's got a great eye!) - and to her I am ever grateful. The six of us met at [...]

- I've just returned from my very first blogging conference as a blogger. Heading into BlogHer13 I really had no idea what to expect. People told me to pack lots of shoes (that was easy!), they said to ensure I had oodles of chargers and power for all my devices, and to bring lots of business cards. (Those are my feet. I was the first person in line to pick up my registration for #BlogHer1[...]

- I've always enjoyed being unique, special, different. I remember when kids teased me and called me weird when I was little my dad would tell me, "you're not weird, you're individual!" And that individuality is what makes me, ME. Which leads me to today's very exciting delivery. My custom GetUncommon iPhone case. I FLIPPIN' LOVE IT! Yes, all caps..I am indeed yelling. I've order[...]

- Pop was mostly considered a ‘treat’ for me as a kid. The one I fondly remember cherishing alongside summer hot dogs with my Dad at the cottage, was Ginger Ale. Another fond memory was enjoying Ginger Ale in my ice cream floats with my Step Dad. The ginger was the perfect companion to vanilla ice cream. Today in fact, during a working lunch meeting it was a can of Canada Dry Ginger Ale I [...]

- It must be because Spring is in the air, but I’m loving big salads. Like Elaine. We cooked a nice big flank steak for dinner earlier this week, and it gave us both lunch for two days. I made this salad both days. Both days it was awesome. I am now plotting this weeks meal plan in order to do it again. See. Doesn’t it look yummy?! h Another current obsession for this week/weekend is this song by [...]

- I leave for Japan tomorrow and have yet to start packing. Eek! One thing that always goes with me whenever and wherever I travel is a pair of DH's wool socks.

- My name is Heather. I like heels, dressing up, sweatpants, my rubber boots, getting my hair done, doing DIY projects, cooking, eating, taking photos, and painting. I am woman of many talents and interests. This list doesn’t even begin to cover it. This blog may, it may not. I think of my barbecue as an extension of my kitchen. Note the MY. By day I work in Public Relations. I have[...]
