  • Vintage addition to main floor powder room

  • We were recently given what the generous gift giver thought was an antique bicycle pump. After some research online, I discovered it was a vintage garden sprayer. My guess is that you would connect a hose from your water basin and then pump the water out through the holes at the end. Kind of a like an old school super soaker. We both think it's quite lovely looking and so I put my brain to figu[...]
  • The List

  • We made a list. A big, grown-up list. A list of things that need to get done around our house (or property). On the list are relatively minor tasks like; 'paint bathroom pipe', and major ones, like 'build new shed'. All require time, most require cash money. Oh the pains of being a grown-up! Being me, and generally sitting on the positive side of the fence, I saw some opportunities to paint, to [...]
  • Kitchen revamp reveal: PARAPaints Plantain Chips PF52

  • It's done! Our entire open concept kitchen/dining room is now a fabulously bright and cheery yellow, PARA Paints' colour of the year Plantain Chips PF52 ! This project took a lot longer than I would ideally like...but that's life! Instead of being home painting, I was either eating alligator for the first time in Atlanta or falling in love with watermelon mojitos in Mexico, so really I'm okay with[...]

Ever since the bathroom got a new mirror I've wanted to add something to the wall behind it. I wanted something subtle because the room is quite long and narrow and I still want your eye to travel to the window, not freeze on a large picture or colourful piece of art. I also wanted s[...]
  • Christmas around the house

  • The Christmas decorations are up! We go to cut down our tree this coming weekend. Can't wait! I'll be sure to share a picture once it's done:) I ended up changing around the mantle as a result of the newly painted living room. With the bold wall, it need to be simpler. The Nutcrackers moved to the hall table beside the gold tree, and I love them there. And...when the first of December[...]
  • Bathroom Mirror Update

  • Remember the fabulous mirror I found on the side of the road last weekend? I knew as soon as I found it I had found my bathroom mirror, so I couldn't wait to get going. I finally found the time today, and I'm super pleased. This is the bathroom the way it was before I swapped the mirror out. I love the old claw foot tub with its gold claws, and of course the original 1898 hardwood floors.[...]
