Life lately: mini projects & Fall prep

I feel like it been forever since writing a post! Although I do admit, going from complete master bedroom makeover, to bar cart, to dining room buffet I’m a bit worn out.  Me and my power tools and paint brushes needed a teeny tiny break.

Not that I really took a break….

Fall means our winter wood order arrives…..which means I get to move and stack a full face cord of wood:)  Check out my stacking skills yo!

The boys luuuurve when the wood pile is in the yard.  It is literally HOURS of entertainment for them chasing chipmunks.  (Who after running into the pile with the dogs hot on their tails, always manage to sneak out shortly after with two oblivious dogs who continue to ‘hunt’ forever:))

I was away for work and also also working away from my usual home office…spending a few days kid/dog/house sitting for a dear friend.  Which with this view, who can complain?!!

I chatted about my favourite tool over on Julia from Home on 129 Acres blog.  I love all the posts in this series, and my must-have tool list has grown!:)

I also made a tiny, but major change, to the master bedroom:) Thank you Pinterest!!! Seriously.  I saw a pin of this project from Thrifty Decor Chic and had to do it.  A $10 clearance drum shade from Homesense and a couple bucks worth of parts from Home Depot, and voila! A major improvement to the necessary evil that is a ceiling fan.

A bit of Harvest decor made it’s way up to the mantle too.  We’re hosting DH’s entire family for Thanksgiving next weekend, so I’m busy menu planning (which I LOVE!), cleaning, and organizing myself for that.

And then of course, there is my never ending list of projects:)!

Next up for me, I’ll be tackling three of the projects from my super giant list:

  1. painting all the trim in the hallways (upstairs, and down)
  2. removing the runner on the stairs, and painting the stairs, spindles, and trim
  3. replacing the runner OR  I’m hoping I can just flip it over since it’s double sided…those (not-so) white stripes have started to show the years….

See you soon!

Congrats on getting your firewood put up. I'm so looking forward to fires this fall. Thanks for sharing your favourite tool on my blog. I appreciated you being part of the series.

We've done the opposite: turned on the heat but haven't fired up the fireplace yet! Stay warm.
